CASE MANAGERS & PARENTS, PLEASE NOTE:  The Hunterdon Learning Center has a rolling admissions policy.  Students are accepted throughout the school year as placements become available.  We are also interviewing students for placement for the 2008-2009 school year.

Case managers may direct referrals to David R Turner, Director of Counseling.  Parents - if you would like to schedule an on-site visit to see the school and get information about our program, please contact Kate Powers at 908-832-7200.

ounded in 1975 by Captain James Robert Butters, the Hunterdon Learning Center has carried the torch of excellence and innovation in alternative education for 30 years, and enjoys a reputation as one of New Jersey's finest private schools.

The Hunterdon Learning Center is a private day school for students with special needs. The primary purpose of the school centers on addressing emotional growth and behavioral change within the supportive atmosphere of a therapeutic community and developing an environment that requires everyone to receive and assume responsibility for maintaining the system.

The entire educational effort seeks to increase students' self-valuing, self-confidence, self-control and personal reliability, as well as instill the pride that comes from belonging to a cooperative community that thrives because its members actively care about each other.

Located in the rolling hills of Hunterdon County, NJ, HLC is approved by the New Jersey Department of Education and accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

The Hunterdon Learning Center is a member of ASAH, NAPSEC, CEC and ASCD.
