Hunterdon
Learning Center students are:
-
eligible
for fulltime out-of-district special services
-
between
the ages of 12 and 18
-
currently
enrolled from 36 school districts in 8 counties (Essex, Hunterdon,
Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Somerset, Sussex, Union, Warren)
-
members
of a school population of approximately 78 students that is generally
sixty- percent male and forty- percent female
Hunterdon
Learning Center students have:

an
appreciation for and an interest in learning more about pro-social
values
-
a
rich variety of gifts and talents that traditional school structures
have struggled to access and develop
-
the
cognitive ability to succeed at academic tasks
-
experienced
significant social and academic difficulties in traditional school
structures
-
developed
maladaptive coping behaviors as a result of these obstacles

display
patterns of physically aggressive behavior
-
display
patterns of bullying or intimidating behavior

display
patterns of anti-social behavior
